# 5 Questions to ask your facelift surgeon

[Christopher Jones](https://www.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/our-team/#2) is the surgeon who carries out all [facelift procedures here at Manchester Plastic Surgery](https://www.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/face-lift-surgery/). He is experienced in all aspects of cosmetic surgery, but specialises in all areas of facial rejuvenation and is published internationally on this specialism.

While we know that Mr Jones is one of the best facelift surgeons in the UK, you may decide to speak to a few surgeons before deciding on who to work with. The right surgeon for you will be one who puts you at ease, and who is open and honest about what’s involved in surgery and what results are likely to be achieved.

Of course, we hope that Mr Jones will be your preferred choice, but as you make your decision it’s worth bearing in mind the following questions which will help you decide which surgeon has the skills, experience and manner to suit you.

## Looking for the best facelift surgeon here in the UK?  Ask these questions:

1. ### **How experienced is your surgeon?**

The last thing you want to find out after having your consultations with your potential surgeon is that they aren’t particularly experienced in what you are asking them to do. Everyone has to gain experience, but you are well within your rights to speak to your surgeon about his or her experience in the field and see examples of their previous work. Your surgeon should expect questions of this nature and should not make you feel awkward whatsoever.

1. ### **Does your surgeon specialise in the face?**

While your surgeon may have an abundance of experience in other areas of aesthetic plastic surgery, they may not be specialised in the face. Have a conversation about where their experience lies and if possible, opt for a surgeon like Mr Jones who specialises in the face and facial rejuvenation.

1. ### **How confident are they in the results they expect to be able to achieve?**

Your plastic surgeon, as part of the consultation, should have a good understanding of the results you’d like to achieve and be able to feedback to you on whether these expectations are realistic. No patient should undergo plastic surgery expecting results different to what the surgeon is actually capable of achieving and this should be well communicated prior to surgery taking place.

1. ### **What follow-up support will be available to you?**

When consulting with your surgeon, the discussion shouldn’t be limited to the surgical procedure alone. Surgeries such as facelifts will require significant aftercare and the amount and quality that you will receive should be established at the outset. For more information, can read our article on[what’s involved in recovering from a facelift.](https://blog.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/what-to-expect-when-recovering-from-facelift-surgery)

1. ### **What risks are involved?**

All surgery carries some level of risk and these risks should be addressed and fully explained to you before you go under the knife. Your surgeon should explain to you the risks involved in anaesthetic as well as all other aspects of your treatment.  You can read more about [risks in facelift surgery](https://blog.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/how-to-minimise-the-risks-with-facelift-surgery)though this matter will be covered with you in your initial consultation.
