title: What results can you expect from plastic surgery
description: Before you undergo any kind of plastic surgery it’s likely that one of your biggest concerns will be what you will look like afterwards. An initial consultation with our expert team will involve discussing your expectations and motivations, whilst being given an idea of your post-surgery appearance.

# Are Your Plastic Surgery Expectations Realistic?

Before you choose to undergo any kind of plastic surgery,  it’s likely that one of your biggest concerns will be having a clear view of your appearance following the procedure. **Whether you’re considering a face treatment or a change to your body, you need to proceed with the confidence and know that you are making the right decision.**

For this reason, we place emphasis on the **initial consultation** as it presents an opportunity to outline the results you’d like to achieve. The consultation will take place at our clinic The Pines Hospital Manchester and it will be led by by one of our experienced plastic surgeons dependant on the treatment you are interested in.

**During the consultation**, our [expert team](https://www.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/our-team/#1)will assess the area of your face or body you wish to change and give you a firm idea of the extent of the procedure that will be required, and whether plastic surgery can meet your expectations. Our expert surgeons will always offer good and honest feedback, even if we can’t always deliver the news that you’d like to hear.

Our team always emphasise that plastic surgery is a major decision; one which can have life-enhancing benefits and help to build self-confidence, but it can’t solve all  problems. Discussing what you’re not happy with and why, and understanding what difference you feel plastic surgery would make, is all part of the initial consultation session. We want you to be completely happy with the end results of your procedure.

## **Describing Your Vision**

When preparing for your initial consultation, it’s helpful if you can be specific about what you don’t like about the area of your face or body which you wish to change. We’ll explore how long you’ve felt dissatisfied, how severe is the problem to you, and how extensive you wish your plastic surgery treatment to be.

While everyone’s body is different, it’s worth looking at the **before and after photos** of previous patients to see if there are any case studies which resonate with how you look and how you feel.

There’s lots of information on the treatment pages of our website, including before and after photos. As well as descriptions of how each procedure is carried out, we also provide information about the risks, what to expect pre-surgery, how to prepare for your recovery and you’ll find lots of details in our blog also . Hopefully this information will help you to think about plastic surgery in relation to your own, unique needs.

## **Decide with Confidence**

Manchester Plastic surgery are the only the practice to offer state-of-the-art [3D modelling](https://www.manchesterplasticsurgery.com/3d-modelling/)of the face and body. This unique service allows you to look at accurate images of what you’ll look like after plastic surgery, before undergoing the operation. We find that our Vecta-XT 3d modelling service allows people to review their post-op appearance to help them decide whether plastic surgery is right for them. This service will also help determine the extent of your treatment to ensure you get the results you want.
