Choosing The Right Breast Implant Size For Your Body

When you’re considering having breast implants the most important decision you need to make is what size to go up to.

Breast surgery can be a life-changing experience so you want to get this aspect right so you can be happy with your results for the long-term.  Go too big and you may feel self-conscious, but go too small and you may continue to feel dissatisfied with the way you look.

The important thing to note is that our expert team is here to guide and support you to make the right decision.  We appreciate that the size of your breasts is linked to your feelings of attractiveness, femininity and self-confidence, so we offer a safe space to talk about the change you’d like to make.

When you attend your initial consultation we will seek to understand your motivations for surgery and get a clear picture of the results you have in mind.

The right size of breast implants are generally those that are in proportion to your natural body shape. For most women, this means going up a couple of cup sizes.  However, if you wish to go for larger implants, you certainly can.

Alternatively, you can look at different shapes of breast implants, as sometimes a different contour will give you the outline you desire without the volume.  We offer Motiva™ implants which are of excellent quality with lots of options on shape and volume. We can show you the implants we would use during your pre-surgery consultations, so you can weigh up the options in collaboration with your surgeon.

If we think you are opting for the wrong size, we will discuss this with you so you can make an informed decision about what to do.  We are one of only a few practices to offer 3D imaging, so you can get a clear and accurate picture of how your implants would look before you go ahead with surgery if you wish.  This can help you feel confident in going ahead with larger breast implants, or you can change your mind before you go under the knife.

All decisions would be made in consultation with your surgeon who is highly experienced and understands how to help you get the best results.  A shared vision of the results you’re after is absolutely vital.  It means you can choose to go ahead with surgery, confident that it will lead to the outcome you desire.  Furthermore, we can perform the surgery knowing we’re helping you get the body shape you want which will help you live with renewed confidence and a stronger sense of self-esteem.

Of course, breast implants can be removed altogether or replaced.  But surgery is a major undertaking so it’s worth taking the time to consult with your surgeon and to think carefully before you go ahead.  We want to help you make the right decision in the first place, so you feel good about the way you look and never look back.
