How is a non-surgical nose job done?

Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is one of the most common cosmetic procedures carried out in the UK. Surgery can be used to improve both the size and shape of the nose, helping you feel happy and confident in your appearance.

Given the rise in non-surgical cosmetic procedures in recent years, we are now receiving enquiries about non-surgical nose jobs. A quick Google search shows numerous results for such treatments, usually through the use of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers. These fillers are used to temporarily reshape the nose, very much like the dermal fillers we use in non-surgical facelift treatments to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

If you’re not happy with the size and shape of your nose and are considering your options, we would urge caution when it comes to non-surgical nose jobs.

Firstly, the use of fillers would give you only limited and temporary results. If you’re not happy with your nose, it’s best to consider a permanent solution, like rhinoplasty, using an experienced surgeon who has specialised in this field for a number of years. This way, you have the procedure carried out, get the results you want, and then return to normal life.

With fillers, the effects are limited. You cannot use fillers to reduce the size of your nose and there are limitations to the difference fillers can make to the shape. Plus, the results are temporary which means you need to return time and again to maintain your results, making your unhappiness with your nose an ongoing issue in your life. The other issue to consider is the fact that the dermal filler industry is unregulated which means it’s difficult to assess the credentials of the person administering your fillers if they are not qualified, practising plastic surgeons.

Whilst most people would prefer a non-surgical solution, the fact remains that the best way to solve a problem with your nose once and for all is to undergo rhinoplasty surgery.
