Introducing Our New Surgeon Mr Christopher Jones

Christopher Jones MBBS, BSc (Hons), FRCS (Plast) is a specialist in facelift surgery, upper and lower eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty.

Mr Jones studied at St Bartholomew’s and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating in 2011.

He became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014 and attained his Fellowship in 2021.  During his training, Mr Jones achieved distinctions in medical and clinical science and clinical practice and was awarded the Harvey Minasian Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

After completing his plastic surgery training in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool, Mr Jones was awarded the prestigious Newcastle microsurgical fellowship. Here, he spent an additional year learning advanced techniques in head and neck surgery, microsurgery and facial reanimation surgery.  Around this time, he also undertook a cosmetic fellowship at MPS and in Liverpool.

In his NHS role, Mr Jones specialises in the management of complex cancers affecting the head and neck. He also specialises in facial palsy, a condition which affects the ability to move/control the facial muscles.

Mr Jones has co-authored two books and published a large number of articles in academic journals on a range of subjects relating to facial palsy and nerve damage, including studies on new techniques and reviews of clinical services available to those affected by facial palsy.

He said: “Like most surgeons, I became interested in human biology whilst at school.  The more I investigated medicine as a career, the more I liked the idea of being able to help other people.  I became interested in plastic surgery, and facial palsy in particular, whilst studying my Fellowship. The face is so important to people’s self-esteem, I very much enjoy helping people to look and feel better about themselves.”

Mr Jones has two children and enjoys football, golf, music and cinema in his spare time.
