Feeling good about the way you look is an important aspect of getting the most out of life. Signs of ageing unfortunately can knock our confidence. Staying young in your outlook and keeping your hairstyle, make-up and clothing up-to-date can all help, but there are some things which only plastic surgery can fix.

Facelift

A mini or full facelift is perhaps the most popular anti-ageing treatment, used to smooth out lines and wrinkles. For the best results, it’s wise to seek treatment before lines become deeply ingrained.

If you sagging and fine lines you want to address, especially near the jawline and cheek, then a mini facelift may be sufficient for you. The mini facelift involves small incisions in front of the ear and is the least invasive form of facelift with the shortest recovery period.

The extended facelift, on the other hand, improves the contour of the jawline and cheek but also extends to the temporal region to allow for the lifting of the lateral brow and crow’s feet. It is particularly good for eliminating the folds of loose skin that can gather around the neck.

Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)

Blepharoplasty can be used to address puffy eyelids and under-eye bags which can make you look tired, even when you’re feeling well. You can have blepharoplasty on your upper eyelids only, or your undereye area too.

Whilst this treatment won’t lift sagging eyebrows, remove crow’s feet, or dark circles under your eyes, it will rejuvenate your eye area and help you face the world with renewed confidence.

The surgery itself usually takes a couple of hours and recovery involves getting plenty of rest in the immediate aftermath of surgery. You should be able to return to work after about ten days. Some patients experience sensitivity to sunlight and wind for a few weeks. We will support you throughout your recovery period to ensure you are comfortable and able to return to normal life as quickly as possible.

Neck lift (platysmaplasty)

Sagging, loose skin around the neck and jawline is a common sign of ageing. Patients often report feeling as if they have a sad and melancholy expression which can be very upsetting, especially if you feel fit and full of life.

There are different approaches to neck lifts. For some patients, good results can be achieved through fat removal alone. For others, fat removal and skin tightening will be required. The right approach will depend on your physiology and the results you’d like to achieve which is why the initial consultation is so important. This enables us to get a good understanding of the results you’d like to see and enables our surgical team to provide tailored advice and guidance so you can make an informed decision about whether surgery is right for you.

In summary

There are lots of options when it comes to anti-ageing plastic surgery. You can have treatments in isolation or combination, it all depends on the results you’d like to achieve.

The first step is to book an initial consultation with one of our surgeons.
